Profile

Maomi Ueno

Maomi Ueno received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Education from Kobe University in 1989 and 1992 respectively, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1994. He was an assistant professor of Graduated school of System Science in Tokyo Institute of Technology from 1994 to 1996. He is now a professor of Graduate School of Informatics and Engineering in The University of Electro-Communications.
Since 1990, he has been engaged in educational technology especially in designing adaptive learning environments and educational data science. He has published over 150 journal and international conference papers. He has been active in both local and international academic societies, which include program committees of AIED, EDM, ICALT, PGM, AISTAT, AAAI, and IJCAI. He has also served as Local Steering Committee Chair in ICALT2007 and AIED2023. He received Best Paper award from The 20th IEEE International Conference on Tools with Artificial Intelligence (ICTAI 2008), Outstanding paper awards from e-Learn2004, e-Learn2005, e-Learn2007, and ED-MEDIA2008.
